About Dizzy's

Dizzy's is a 200-capacity listening room inside Arias Hall, behind the Musicians' Association of San Diego at 1717 Morena Boulevard in Bay Park — the venue's fourth home since founder Chuck Perrin opened it in 2000. All-ages, with the format built around the performance: no bar, no TVs, no club scene. The tagline is 'where the music matters most.'

Programming centers on original jazz, with folk and world acts in the rotation. Show nights only — Thursday through Sunday — with set times pushed early enough to feel like a recital rather than a late-night club. Booked by Perrin himself.

Reopened at Bay Park in 2021 after a 16-month COVID closure. The most concert-hall-like room of any small venue in San Diego, and the rare all-ages stop in the local jazz circuit. Recommended when you want to actually hear the band.
